Deal with it

I enjoy contract bridge, but some hands dealt are difficult, awkward, or boring. I still play bridge, though.

Silver metal also needs thoughtful handling, and, as in bridge, some pieces are difficult, awkward, or boring,.

Even with great care not to scratch silver which would add hours of work removing those marks, damage happens. Removing a dent may mean moving too much metal or adding even more damage. A scratch will show forever unles sanded away.

Like bridge playing, I evaluate my drawings, plan the steps, and carefully work through the hand dealt. Sometimes the piece is a grand slam, absolutely wonderful, and sometimes a yarborough (no value at all), a total waste.

I wake each day wondering about my next silver piece.
